White marble is a timeless classic in the well-designed home. The veining and luxury of marble makes an instant sophisticated statement in any kitchen. However, marble does scratch and stain easily. It’s recommended for use in smaller countertop sections, such as an island or baking station, rather than the entire kitchen.
There was a time when tile countertops were all the rage. During the late 70s and throughout the 80s they became popular and tiles in general started being used extensively in kitchens and bathrooms. After this, there was a period when everyone seemed to have forgotten about tile countertops.
(Note: If you forget to do this, no worries. You can use a razor blade to remove the silicone and the first layer of concrete in one swipe after it dries and fails to stick.)
